يقف الخزان الكبير على أربعة أعمدة، يبدو من بعيد كنملة لا تتحرك أبداً. مرة كان له لومن آخر، دام إلى أن جاءت نقطة صد صغيرة. غير أن اللون البني عليها لم يكن بسبب نقطة الصدا، بل بسبب الخياطة التي لم تستنفد كلياً قطعة القماش الصوفية الثقيلة، التي تراودها من وقت إلى آخر مذهبة، في صنع ثوب للأم بقيت قطعة صغيرة لا تكفي إلا لصنع ثوب صغير" منحت هذه الرواية "لا مساس" جائزة الرواية في المسابقة لتي تنظمها مؤسسة عبد المحسن القطان ضمن برنامجها للثقافة والعلوم للعام 2001 وذلك لبنائها المعماري الروائي المتصاعد في الشكل كما في المحتوى، ولاتسامها بالتجديد في الموضوع والأسلوب، ولمقدرة الكاتبة على صوغ عوالم جديدة وغريبة وأليفة في الآن نفسه، ولبراعتها في رسم شخصيات روائية إنسانية القسمات، بعيدة استطراداً عن الشخصية النمطية التي لا تمثل البشر بقدر ما تنوب عن مفهوم أو مزاج أو رمز.
