في هذا الكتاب نقص علينا "أروى طارق التل" قصصاً من واقع الحياة، عنونتها بــ"مِسَاسْ" تعبر عن مواقف جادة في قالب إنتقادي ساخر، في "مِسَاسْ" تكتب الأديبة "أروى طارق التل" بقلم الموجوع على المجتمع من طفله المشرد في الأزقة والحارات إلى ذاك المهمل في أحضان الأمومة، مروراً بالرجولة المقهورة بالفقر، وحكايا أخرى تحكي فيها عن الشاعر الناثر والتلميذ النجيب وحضارة الكلام الساكت، كما غاصت "أروى" في خصائص بنات جنسها، كيف يفكرن، كيف يمارسن حيواتهن، فجاءت شخصيات العمل إطاراً للتعبير عن إجتراحات المرأة، فتتقمص عدة نساء في جسد واحد وقلب واحد وربما عقل واحد، نتجت عنها نصوص روائية متماسكة، تناولت قضايا ذاتية للأنثى، مثلما عكست قضايا عامة ما تزال تشغل مجتمعاً عربياً معيناً، ربما هو مجتمع الروائية، أو المجتمع العربي عموماً، حيث تمكنت فيما قدمته من أن ترسم للمعيش في هذا المجتمع شبيهاً روائياً مميزاً. بلغة شاعرية ميزت أعمال أروى الأدبية، فها هي تعبّر عن خيبات الحب عندما تتحول إلى ألم بدلاً من أمل تقول: "... عندما تختطفك لحظة الحب من نفسك وتهيأ لك أنها هناك، نقطة ضوء في حياتك قد تستنير بها، ثم ما تلبث أن تكتشف انها سراب... وكلما حاولت أن تتماسك في تجربتك تلك تخطئ... وكلما أخطأت ندمت... وكلما ندمت زادت معارك قلبك قبولاً أو رفضاً لهذا الحب، ولكنك في النهاية تنكسر... لعل الحب يكون لصاً... أن يسرق منك أبخس الأشياء أو أثمنها لا يهم... ولكن يكفيه لصوصية أنه ينتهك حرمة قلبك... ويدخل دون إستئذان ويجعلك تبدو أمام كبريائك كالأبله... كهبنقة...". ضم الكتاب ثلاث عشرة قصة قصيرة جاءت تحت العناوين الآتية: "عيد ميلاد"، "حكايات غير عادية عن محاكم التفتيش"، "مِسَاسْ"، "صديق الرصيف"، "رغم أنف أذن أبي فراس الحمداني"، "برتقال"، "طموح وردي بريء"، "بأي ذنب قتلت"؟!، "لحية شيطان"، "الكيس"، "كوسى قياس 45"، "كلام ساكت"، "لماذا؟!".
