تزاوج الباحثة آمنة يوسف بين النظرية والتطبيق، وتمارس التحليل الجزئي والكلي، وكما تشتغل بقضايا خاصة تشتغل بالعامة، وهذا الأسلوب بين درجة إمتلاكها لأدوات التحليل والرؤية المنهجية؛ وفي مقاربتها لموضوعاتها تزاوج بين الوصف والتفسير والتأويل وبالإنطلاق دائماً ممَّا يقدمه لها النص بحيث لا تحمل النص ما لا يطيق من تأويلات جاهزة أو مسبقة، وهي تتدرج في التحليل من الخاص إلى العام، أو العام إلى الخاص.
ويبدو كل ذلك على مستوى لغتها العلمية، حيث تلمس دقة إستعمال المصطلحات مع عدم المغالاة في توظيفها والإقتصار على ما تستدعيه الضرورة المنهجية، ولا تخلو لغتها من مسحة جمالية تستمدها من نزوعها الشعري، لكنها لا تسقط في المبالغة التجميلية للعبارة، لذلك تظل لغتها علمية واضحة وشفافة بدون تقعر إنشائي أو إصطلاحي.
وأخيراً يكفي أن أسمها النقدي له مكانته في الدراسات النقدية العربية وليس اليمنية فقط.
