كتاب "الحكمة في مخلوقات الله" للإمام الغزالي كتاب فريد في بابه، متميز في بحثه، ذكر فيه الغزالي أنواعاً من مخلوقات الله عز وجل، تبعث على التفكير في خلق الله، وعجائب قدرته، وعظيم حكمته، ومن المخلوقات التي ذكرها مبيناً الحكمة في وجودها: الشمس والقمر والكواكب، والأرض والبحار والماء والناس والطير، وسبع الذباب والذر والبعوض والسمك والنبات على أشكاله وألوانه وأنواعه. وبيّن في كل باب ما فيه من عجائب حكمة الله تعالى في خلقه، وما تستشعر به القلوب من العظمة لعلام الغيوب، والحق يقال أن في هذا الكتاب نفائس نادرة معها تتحرك مشاعر الإيمان والوجدان عند القارئ، مما يبعث على الخشوع للرحمن وعلى التفكير والتدبُر في الآيات المبثوثة في هذا الكون العظيم، الدالة على وجود الله الذي أعطى كل شيء في هذا الكون خلقه ثم هدى، ونظراً لما لهذا الكتاب من أهمية عملية وعلمية عني المحقق "محمد رشيد قباني" بتحقيقيه وتجلى عمله بتخريج الآيات الكريمة وشرح الألفاظ الغامضة، ممهداً للكتاب بترجمة لحياة المؤلف تبين فضله ومنزلته وقدره بين علماء الإسلام.
