هذه المدونة هي عبارة عن كتاب توثيقي دونت فيه مظان 1441 صحيفة صدرت في الجزيرة العربية، التي تضم دول الإمارات العربية المتحدة والبحرين والسعودية وعمان وقطر والكويت واليمن، وذلك تطبيقاً للمبدأ القائل: "جمع الماء حتى يعوم سفينة". توزع هذه الصحف بين هذه الدول على الشكل التالي: 206 صحف في الإمارات العربية المتحدة، و109 صحف في البحرين، و539 صحيفة في السعودية، و58 صحيفة في عمان، و89 صحيفة في قطر، و319 صحيفة في الكويت، و121 صحيفة في اليمن. علماً أن هذه المدونة ليست تاريخاً لمجريات الأحداث، ولا دراسة تعتمد البحث والتحليل والاستقراء والتقييم (جرت بعض الأحيان مقارنة لما ورد في المصادر المستشهد بها من متناقضات)، إنما هي سجل بيبليوغرافي مفصل وسهل الاستعمال يتوخى منه مساعدة طلاب العلم والباحثين، دارسي صحافة الجزيرة العربية، في حقول اختصاصاتهم بما يوفره لهم من معلومات أولية موثقة لا غنى عنها لأية دراسة علمية موضوعية معمقة.
رتبت مواد هذه المدونة ترتيباً هجائياً حسب أسماء الصحف، وأضيف إلى متن الكتاب هذا ملحقاً بأسماء أصحاب الامتياز أو المؤسسين بما في ذلك المؤسسات الخاصة والعامة، بالإضافة إلى سبعة ملاحق أخرى لما صدر من هذه الصحف في دول الجزيرة العربية، ملحقاً لكل دولة من دولها على حدة، يشتمل على ما صدر من صحفها حسب التسلسل الهجائي والتسلسل الزمني وباللغات الأجنبية.
اشتملت مظان كل مادة من موادها على المعلومات التالية: 1-اسم الصحيفة (بما فيها "الجريدة" و"المجلة" و"النشرة" و"التقرير"). 2-صاحب الامتياز أو المؤسسة التي أصدرتها. 3-رئيس التحرير (إذا ما توفر ذلك. 4- مواعيد صدورها والمواضيع التي تتناولها (إذا ما توفر ذلك)، أ-يومية، أسبوعية، شهرية، الخ. ب-سياسية، علمية، ثقافية، رياضية، الخ. 5-مكان صدورها. 6-تاريخ تأسيسها. 7-المصادر المعتمدة في جمع وإعداد هذه المعلومات.
