وإذا كان الشاعر أو الأديب يفيض بوجدانه ومشاعره فأن المؤرخ يلجم هذه المشاعر ويحتفظ بأغلبها في أدراج نفسه ليصبح موضوعياً في سرده للحدث وصادقاً في إستنتاجه وإحصاءاته وصارماً في أحكامه.
على هذا الدرب الوعر سار الأمين "جهاد العقل" لينفض الغبار عن تاريخ معين لبلد معين ومنطقة معينة بروح المحقق والمؤرخ وبهاجس إحياء هذا التاريخ وإستعادته.
