هذا الكتاب هو الأول من نوعه في العالم العربي لأنه يعنى بالتوعية الصحية للأهل تجاه طفلهم ويعرفهم بأهمية المراقبة الصحية للطفل من خلال برنامج الزيارات في عيادة الطفل السليم، والفحوصات الضرورية الواجب إجراؤها في كل زيارة تحت إشرلف طبيب الأطفال. يقدم هذا الكتاب شرحاً مفصلاً عن البرنامج الغذائي الصحي اليومي للطفل منذ الولادة وحتى السنة الثانية عشر من العمر، ويحتوي على العديد من الوصفات الصحية والشهية الخاصة بكل مرحلة من هذه المراحل. كما يتضمن معلومات عن مقاييس النمو الطبيعية للطفل وعن تطوره النفسي والحركي السليم. وكذلك يهتم بالألعاب المناسبة لكل عمر وأهمية مشاركة الأهل للطفل في اللعب ومساعدته في تقوية قدراته الحركية والذهنية وبالتالي المساهمة الفعالة في تنمية مواهبه.
ريم قنواتي: من مواليد دمشق، درست الطب في جامعة دمشق حيث نالت شهادة البكالوريوس في الطب البشري العام 1984. درست طب الأطفال في فرنسا. عملت كطبيبة استشارية أطفال ولا زالت تعمل في مشافي خاصة في الكويت منذ العام 1993. أصدرت أول كتاب لها (السجل الصحي للطفل) باللغتين العربية والإنكليزية العام 1998.
