إن المعرفة الحقيقية بالسينما السورية بدت من خلال مجموعة من المخرجين من خارج سورية أخذوا أفلاماً سورية حققت مركزاً مرموقاً في سنوات من 1972 إلى 1974, للمخرج المصري (توفيق صالح) والذي كان يعمل في سوريا في ذلك الوقت, لكن الأهم واللافت للنظر هو هذا البرنامج الذي قدمه الناقد الراحل فتحي فرج عندما كان مشرفاً على نوادي السينما في قصور الثقافة الجماهيرية, فقدم لنا فيلمين الأول (اليازرلي) إنتاج عام 1974, والثاني (الحياة اليومية في قرية سورية)- والذي يعد من أهم الوثائق التسجيلية في تاريخ السينما العربية. إن ما يحاول المؤلف تقديمة ما هو إلا رحلة مع السينما السورية عبر ثلاثين عاماً, رجاء رصدها وتحليلها وإلقاء الضوء على بعض منها من خلال علاقتنا بهذه السينما التي شاهدناها وتعرّفنا على البعض من صناعها, فكانت تلك المحاولة لرصد أنفسنا من خلال سينما أحببناها, هي لنا عطر الأحباب.
