كتب الكثير ويكتب عن جبران... هذا الإنسان الطامع للعلى، الثائر على النظم والتقاليد الجاثمة على شرقنا العزيز. خصوصاً وأنه عاش في الغرب ولم يخفق للغرب قلبه, بل ظل حنينه دائماً وأبداً إلى وطنه وإلى قومه الذين كان يرجو لهم مستقبلاً مشرقاً وعالماً أفضل... إلا أنه أنهك في النهاية إذ قال:
"والتوت مني الأماني وانحنت قبل أن ابلغ حد الأربعين"
وبعد أن توالت عليه النكبات بموت والدته وأخيه، ووهنت قواه وأتعبه المرض والضيق المادي وعانى من الغربة ما عاناه، عاد إلى وطنه ولسان حاله يقول: "ورجعت إلى لبنان رجوع كل لبناني، من غربة إلى غربة".
جبران النبي وجبران الإنسان، لا يمكن للمرء، عندما يقرأه، إلا أن يحبه. أولاً كأخ في الوطنية، وثانياً كإنسان يتخطى جميع الفروقات التي أوجدها البشر بين أبناء البشر.
في جميع الأحوال جعل جبران هدفه الأسمى عودة الإنسان إلى ذاته وإلى إنسانيته ليسير في سواء السبيل الذي هو محبة الخلق بعضهم لبعض، بعيداً عن العصبية العراقية أو الدينية... ألا وهو القائل إن الأديان كأصابع اليد، خرجت جميعها من يد الله.
ومهما قلت عن جبران، أرى نفسي عاجزة عن إيجاد كلمات تفيه حقه... لكن قلمي لا ينفك يتشبث بيدي ويدفعني للكتاب... وأتساءل، ماذا عساي أكتب؟ إلى أن استبدت بي فكرة تلخيص مجموعة أعماله توخياً للفائدة العامة، لما فيها من بصمات ترفد الحق وتنصر المظلوم، وتسمو بالنفس البشرية إلى ما فوق الطبيعة الهمجية لتضعها في عوامل غير مرئية وتريها قدسية الحياة وعظمة الخالق، بعيداً عن السفالات والتفاهات والانحطاط الأخلاقي والإجرام، وكل ما هنالك من نواقص تشوب عالمنا السائر نحو الخراب، برذالات "المافيات" العالمية التي تحاول ابتزاز الأناس الأبرياء واقتصاص ثرواتهم ثم سحقهم تجنياً وعدواناً.
سلام على روحه الطيبة، وأهلاً بها في فجرها الثاني، مخاطبة أدباءنا وطلابنا وكل راغب في الاهتداء بأنوارها الكاشفة، عن خفايا الأمور وجواهر الأشياء.
