تأخذنا الحياة إلى حيث توقعنا حيناً.. وفي كثير من الأحيان.. إلى حيث لم نتوقع.. تلك هي المسافة التي تقطعها رواية "لم تقل وداعاً" في محاولة من الروائية "فاطمة علي مبارك الكواري" لتفسير دوران حياة البشر بين الإرادة والمشيئة.. المشيئة الإلهية التي بدأت بين "أنفال" و"آدم" في الحياة الدنيوية ثم ما لبثت أن انتهت في الحياة الأخروية..
على خط الوقائع، يبدأ السرد في "لم تقل وداعاً" من واقعة قيام عائلة "بوفارس" المسؤول الكبير في إحدى الوزارات بدعوة عائلته للسفر إلى "شرم الشيخ" احتفالاً بنجاح ولده "فارس" بالثانوية العامة ترافقه زوجته "أم فارس" وابنته "أنفال" بعد رفض "فرح" السفر معهم لأن هناك ما يشغلها عن السفر!
وهناك في "شرم الشيخ" كانت "أنفال" على موعد مع حب طاهرٍ ونقي لم تكن تنتظره؛ كان "آدم" كابتن الطائرة هو الآخر في رحلة استجمام.. تعرف على أخيها "فارس" ونشأت صداقة بين الإثنين تطورت إلى أبعد من ذلك حين قرر "آدم" خطبة "أنفال" من والدها بعد عودتهم إلى الديار والذي قابله "أبو فارس" بالرفض كون العريس لا يلبي طموحاته المادية.. فكان وقع الخبر شديداً على "أنفال" التي توقف قلبها في اللحظة التي عرفت أنها لن يكون لحبها مكاناً في هذه الحياة.. اختارت الرحيل إلى السماء.. ولكن هل يُعقل أن يكون لـ "آدم" مكان في عالمٍ ليست فيه "أنفال"؟!
على النقيض من شخصية "أنفال" كانت أختها "فرح" المرأة المطلقة التي تعشق نفسها ويعشقها الرجال، تعيش قصة زواج سري مع "سلمان" رجل متزوج ولديه طفلان.. كان صادقاً في حبّه، وكانت أنانية في حبّها له.. تنتظر وفاة زوجته المريضة لتفوز به وحدّها.. فشلت في علاقتها معه وألحقت فشلها بفشل آخر لرجل لم يقل لها وداعاً...
