معظم الشخصيات المذكورة في تلك الرواية كانت تعيش فعلاً. وقد قمت بتركيب الحقائق المعروفة عنهم، داخل مسارات الأحداث. أما الفجوات الخاصة بالسير الذاتية، فقد أتاحت لي مساحة حرة، لتتبع خيالي، وابتداع ما بدا لي محتملاً. بالطبع فإنني أقوم بتأويل الوقائع وخصائص الشخصيات على طريقتي أنا الذاتية. مما يعني: إن شخصيات الرواية مستوحاة من الأشخاص الحقيقيين، لكنهم ليسوا متطابقين معهم. وإن الملامح العامة حقيقية بالفعل، إلا أنها خلال رسمها تحولت إلى صورتي أنا الشخصية عنها.
