في هذا الكتاب يسَطر "ادمون أمين رزق" تجربة تأسيس الكتلة البرلمانية المستقلة في لبنان منذ البدايات، وما قامت به من تحرك ومبادرات، في ظروف صعبة إذ ذاك، فأصيبت بطعنات مؤلمة: فقدت نديم نعيم، فسليمان العلي، ثم استشهد لويس أبو شرف، ولكن الرفاق ظلو أمناء على الرسالة، أوفياء بالعهد الذي قطعوه، والخط الوطني الذي التزموه. لأجل ذلك، وعربوناً للصداقة الوطيدة التي جمعت من هؤلاء وتأوية لحق التاريخ، يثبت "أدمون رزق" في هذا العمل مجمل بيانات الكتلة البرلمانية المستقلة، المحفوظة لديه، ونماذج من نشاطها، ليطلع شباب لبنان، وكل من يهتم بأحداث تلك الحقبة، على شهادة الكلمة التي أداها ثمانية من نواب الأمة اللبنانية، وزكاها كبيرهم، لويس أو شرف، بدمه الطاهر. كذلك يثبَت المؤلف وقائع المؤتمر الصحافي الذي عقد بينه وبين لويس أبو شرف في 16 تموز 1986 والبيانات الصادرة عن الإجتماعات، خصوصاً في بكركي، وأبرزها اجتماع 18 نيسان 1989، غداة استشهاد لويس، إضافة إلى الوثيقة النيابية الصادرة عن اجتماع ممثلي الكتل، والتي تبناها المجلس النيابي في آذار 1978، والبيان الصادر عن اجتماع رزق بنخبة من العلماء المسلمين الأفاضل، في مقر المجلس النيابي يوم الرابع من تموز 1979، وقد كان محاولة منفردة لكسر طوق القطيعة بين اللبنانيين في تلك الفترة من الزمن. كذلك يتضمن الكتاب وقائع مؤتمر صحافي عقده رزق في المجلس النيابي عام 1980، وأخيراً بيانات ومقررات متفرقة، تمتد حتى 14 آذار 1996.
