مؤلف هذا الكتاب فتى على أعتاب السادسة عشرة, استوعب قبل الشروع في التأليف أهم معارف عصره من تاريخ الفلسفة وأمهات الكتب الفلسفية الأصلية الى أهم اتجاهات الفكر المعاصر: النسبية والفيزياء الحديثة, الفرويدية والتحليل النفسي وعلم النفس المعاصر, الجدلية المادية والتاريخية والفكر الماركسي, أهم شعاب نظرية التطور, والفكر الديني واللاهوتي- كل ذلك أضفى على الكتاب مسحة فكرية- فلسفية واضحة, وكان أجدى بدلاً من التواضع تسمية الكتاب: قضايا فكرية- فلسفية, ففيه مباحث في نظرية المعرفة البراجماتية والجدلية, وفي قضايا انطولوجية كاللانهاية, وفلسفية كالسفسطة, وفكرية علمية فلسفية كالنسبية والجبرية (الحتمية). إضافة الى معالجة مسائل أخلاقية هامة كالاختيار والحرية والخير والمساواة والسعادة, وفي كل من هذه المسائل يدلي بدلائه ويترك بصمته الواضحة عبر محاورة كبار الفلاسفة في آرائهم نداً لند, وفي الكتاب كثير من المحطات الفكرية الهامة والومضات والالتماعات اللماحة في تقديم رؤىً فكرية أصيلة ومستقلة ومبتكرة.
معن النقري: هو معن بن عبد المجيد النقري مولود في محافظة حمص عام 1951م. حائز على الماجستير في الهندسة التكنولوجية سنة 1977. اشتغل بالتدريس والبحث العلمي والهندسة والكتابة والنشر. لديه مئات المنشورات في دوريات عربية ومحلية, و20كتاباً منشوراً.
