ومن بين الروّاد الذين أسسوا لمجال العلاقات العامّة بينجامين سوننبيرج Benjamin Sonnonberg، الذي برزت إسهاماته في مجال تقديم الإستشارات في مجال العلاقات العامّة.
وكذلك ركس هارلو Rex Harlow الذي ساهم في تأسيس المجلس الأمريكي للعلاقات العامّة والذي أصبح فيما بعد جمعيّة العلاقات العامّة الأمريكيّة، وآرثر باج Arther Page الذي أكّدَ على أن العلاقات العامّة هي وظيفة إداريّة معنيّة برسم وتشكيل السياسات الإداريّة في المؤسسات المختلفة.
ويُشار أيضاً إلى الفريد سلوان Alfred Sloan الذي عمل رئيساً لشركة جنرال موتورز وجهوده في مجال العلاقات العامّة والتي تركّزَت حول ضرورة دراسة إتجاهات الجماهير والنظر إلى وظيفة العلاقات العامّة بإعتبارها وظيفة إجتماعيّة إقتصاديّة ذات أبعاد إداريّة.
كما يُشار إلى إيرل نيوسم الذي عمل مستشاراً للعلاقات العامّة بشركة فورد الأمريكيّة سنة 1945، والذي نجح في مجال تغيير صورة إدارة الشركة لدى الجمهور ووسائل الإعلام وذلك من خلال تبنّي سياسة الإتصال المفتوح بين الإدارة من جهة والجماهير ووسائل الإتصال من جهة أخرى (هاشم، 1996: 41- 48).
في هذا الكتاب سوف نُلقِي الضّوء على العديد من الأسس والمبادئ والمفاهيم العلميّة للعلاقات العامّة، والإتصال الإقناعي، والعلانية وأدواتها، إضافة إلى العلاقات العامّة الحكوميّة، وإستراتيجيّات الإتصال في مجال العلاقات العامّة، وقد تم طرح هذه القضايا، وما تفرَّع عنها مِن أفكار بأسلوب اعتمد السياق المتدرَّج في طرح الأفكار بحيث يخدم الكتاب الدارسين والممارِسين على حدٍّ سواء.
