"وشربت ببطء.. ومطت جسدها بحزن، أتعرف... كان والدك يحبني.. أجل.. أجل عشقني. كان هذا حين تفجر الماء في صلبه.. وحلت اللعنة عليه.. عباس الحمولة، أمثولة الفحل عندنا، وأغمضت عينيها بمرح خفي، وشعرت بالعرق يتصبب من جسدها.. كنت جميلة آنذاك.. أخلب عقول الرجال.. وكانت أمي تخاف عليّ منه!.. وقد علا صيته في القرى المجاورة.. وحين عشقني لم أعطه ما ابتغى؟ وحلفت عليه أن لا يقرب امرأة لمدة خمس سنوات.. وأكون له.
وصمم والدي على قتلي إذا قابلته.. وبالفعل وكان قد طلق حينذاك أربع مرات.. زهد من النسوان وقلت بعد سنة لا يقدر أن يصبر.. وكدت انفض ما أقسمنا عليه، كنت أحبه أيضاً.. وحين ألاقيه.. كانت ركبتاي ترتعشان.. وأحس بشيء ما.. يضرب في بطني.
ونظرت إلي بكآبة خريف جاف.. وشربت جرعة ماء. ولم تمضي أربع سنوات إلا وتناهي إلى بعرس عباس الحمولة على أمك.. انفجر حينذاك.
انهمر الليل.. كان قاسياً، بعض الشيء.. وكانت هي تدمدم، كمن شق عليه أن يرى العالم حيث وجد أن حياته كانت لمجرد خطأ ما. وقلت أكان يحب نشمية!! أكان..؟!
واعتدلت فجأة في جلستها.. كانت تحدث في عيني.. ألفية.. كزهرة عباد الشمس. كان يعبدها بشدة.. وبكي كثيراً من شدة هذا العشق.. وقد شكاني همه أكثر من مرة.. كان يجد الراحة في بيتي.. كنت أحبه.. وهو يدرك هذا.. إلا أنه كان يحاول أن يكفر عن خطيئته بهذا الموت العنيف.. كان من العنف بحيث أني لم أقدر أن أصدره عن مبتغاة أبداً.. كانت كل امرأة طلقها عباس الحمولة، تنفس حريتها المفقودة.. وتجد حياتها تنمو كالعشب.. كانت كل واحدة لا تطيق وحشيته البربرية.. ونهمه.. ومطارحته الحب.. كان يمتص حياته أيضاً. وفكرت: لقد اختار هذا الموت.. إذن. وبكت فجأة. بكت، كمن تذكر شيئاً مخيفاً"...
