تكشف المتابعة المستبصرة للكتابات الاجتماعية المغامرة التي اعتنت بالتاريخ للاجتماع الإسلامي عن جملة من المفارقات التي تجعل الباحث في وضعية معرفية، مضطربة وهذا عائد إلى وجود بون شاسع يفصل فيما بين كتابه المعطيات المعرفية المبنية وقدرتها على تغطية مساحات كبيرة من الموضوعات المعالجة، وبين عمليات التحليل والتنظير وما تقضي إليه من استنتاجات وأحكام جازمة في أحيان كثيرة. ومن خلال وعي الباحث لهذه المفارقة يحاول من خلال دراسة متأنية للكتابات التاريخية العربية تحديداً فترة تاريخ الدولة العثمانية الاستفادة من عطاءات التراث النقدي الذي كرسه التراث المعرفي الضخم النتائج عن تراكمات العلوم الإنسانية المعاصرة، للمضي قدماً باتجاه الإسهام من بلورة وإنتاج تصورات إيجابية في تصديها لعملية التاريخ للاجتماع العربي الإسلامي والتي تتجاوز حدود النقد والتفكيك.
وقد تابع البحث وعلى ضوء وحقيقة المعرفية العلامات الهادية المشيرة إلى أزمنة معرفية معينة مبثوثة في صلب المادة التاريخية نفسها في هذه العلامات الكاشفة، استوقفت الباحث رؤى معرفية وفقهية وثقافية تداخلت وترافقت في ثنايا دورة الاجتماع العامة، وهي في صيرورتها هذه كانت تشير وتعضد مواقف واتجاهات وسياسات بتقاريره، أفضت إلى ترسيخ خطوط انتظام وحراك متعدد الأوجه، وجد الباحث تعبيراتها الثابتة في بني الثقافة والمجتمع والسلطة في تجربة الدولة العثمانية.
