ليس من السهل أن يخرج القارئ من حدائق اليأس دون أن ترتسم في ذهنه انطباعات عميقة تتركها اللغة المميزة التي يكتب بها المؤلف، يعالج بها الأفكار الرئيسة في الرواية. وفي غمرة المشاعر الإنسانية المتضاربة تلوح شخصيات أبطاله التي تحاول الانفلات من قيود مفروضة عليها، غير أنها تظل متمسكة بنظرتها الواقعية إلى الأمور وبتفاؤلها، ورغم مآسي البطل وفقدانه لنصفه الثاني فإنه ظل يحيا يومه بانتظار يوم جديد يحمل معه الأهل والسعادة، فحديقة اليأس التي خبرها البطل لم تعد كما هي، ربما لأنه يتذكرها كما كانت ولا يريد "عقله أن يراها على صورة مختلفة".
وفي بحثه المستمر عن سبب تغيرها فجأة، قرر الخروج من حالة اليأس، لأن "رشا لا تحب الأسيد ولا تحب الوحشة ولا تحب اليأس، لهذا لن تعود حديقة اليأس إلى الشكل الذي يعرفه لأنه لم يعد ينظر إليها وحيداً. رشا لا تريد أن تعيش مع اليأس ولن تعود إلى اليأس مرة أخرى حتى في موتها". فهو يحملها في قلبه ويحمل ابنها معه، وسيفتح "صفحة جديدة في كتاب الحياة" و"سيزيل أكوام الفكر من درب عقله لأنهت لم تدله على شيء".
