ان الحديث عن البلاغة وتجديدها وطرقها وفنونها لاينتهي، وذلك لتجدد الناس ونموهم وتدرجهم، وتنامي معارفهم، واختلاف مشاربهم في العقل والذوق والحياة والحضارة. ومن مظاهر ذلك ان تبدّت وظيفتان للبلاغة العربية، الأولى جمالية، والثانية وظيفية، والوظيفية فيها الجمالي، والجمالي فيه الوظيفي، وهاتان الوظيفتان مناط التذوق والفائدة والتأثير وتغير السلوك . والبلاغة العربية او بلاغتنا اليوم بين مصطلحي الجمالية والوظيفية، تكفل التوصيل والتأثير وخدمة الواقع، والتفاعل مع الناس في اختلاف الزمان والمكان، ومن اجل تحقيق ما سبق عمد المؤلف الى الاعتماد على أعلام من القديم والحديث، فكان ابن المدبر وابن شيت القريشي، وكان الحديث أعلام في الأدب والنقد والبلاغة من مثل : مازن المبارك، وعبدالقادر القط، ولإمتحان مصداقية ذلك كانت نماذج من التطبيق شعرأ ونثرأ، ومن ذلك : قصيدة ثورة الشك للامير عبدالله الفيصل . ولم تخل فصول هذا الكتاب من نظرات أدبية ونقدية ولسانية ومقارنة، وعرض لفنون من الجمالية والوظيفية في أفكار الدارسين وعرض اخر لوجوه التطبيق بين الجمالية والوظيفية، مع توقف عند البلاغة التطبيقية والتحليل الادبي كدعاميتين للنقد الأدبي السليم .
