في خضم الحرب الأهلية الدائرة اليوم والتي اختطلت صورتها لدى الكثيرين من اللبنانيين من حيث توجهها ومفاهيمها فضلاً عن رسم حدود جغرافية للطوائف الدينية بعد الفرز السكاني نشطت الأبحاث والدراسات التي تتناول مناطق أخذت أسماء كبيرة إبان العهد التركي (جبل لبنان...) سيما لجهة إعادة كتابة التاريخ الخاص لتلك المناطق وكأنها وحدات سياسية.
بخلاف ذلك يأتي هذا البحث لتوضيح حقيقة أساسية لمنطقة لم يتناولها المؤرخون في كتاباتهم لتاريخ لبنان الحديث إلا بقدر ما تخدم التوجه العام للنظام السياسي الطائفي في أحداث جبل لبنان وبقدر ما همش النظام اللبناني المناطق التي أُلحقت بهذا الجبل عام 1920 كان تهميش تاريخها.
إذن ما نتوخى في هذا البحث الولوج إلى الخلفية الحقيقية لحالة الإستنهاض العام الثوري في جبل عامل اليوم ضد الإسرائيلي.
