هذا الشاعر الذي دحض نظرية ت.س. اليوت الشعرية وُلِد كبيراً بعد الثلاثين، بل أقول أنه تكرس شاعراً قبل ذلك بكثير، فالحب لديه هو خصائص منهجه العام في تشكيل عناصره وقصائده، حيث نرى هذه العاطفة، وأجمل ما فيها أن يعبر عنها بشعر الحب الذي قد يبدو بسيطاً، ولكنه في الحقيقة يفوق في تعقيده وتشابكه ما في الحديث عن الشكل والمضمون المتلاحم والمتناغم والظاهر علناً في مدينته العابقة بالياسمين وأهلها الطيبين والأمكنة التي زارها خلال حياته كقبطان مترحل، أبداً مثل نحلة يقطف منها عبير المكان والزمان، ودائماً يعود إلى وطنه وأهله الذين أحبهم وأخلص لهم إلى درجة الشعر.
ونقرأ نصاً بعنوان: "رَحيل"... "لا تسأليني أن يطُولَ مقامي... وجعُ الرحيلِ معششٌ بمسامي... يتَبعثرُ الحلمُ الجميلُ كومضةٍ... ويذوبُ عمري كالشموعِ أمامي... أروادُ مَدَّتْ للبحارِ مراكبي... وبدأتُ منها رحلتي وهيامي... تتكسرُ الأمواجُ عند صخورها... وتكسَّرتْ عند الرحيلِ سهامي...
