يحاول "علي آل عبد الجبار" في هذا الكتاب الرد على الشبهات التي تقول ببنوة النصارى للإله وزعمهم أن المسيح ابن الله ومناقشتهم عن طريق العقل والمنطق حيث يقول "أن الولادة غير الصنع..! إذ هو: فعل وأثر؛ والولادة- من حيث هي ولادة- تفهم انفصال شيء عن شيء على صفة لا تقع هي والفعل في صقع واحدٍ".
لأجل ذلك يؤكد الكاتب في مؤلفه هذا على عبارة الله الواحد، وأن المعجزات التي أظهرها عيسى هي "معجزات أذن الله لأوليائه، في إظهارها، وألق في هويَة الكائنات طاعتهم، والانفعال لأمرهم –كما جرى لموسى، وداؤود، وسليمان، وإبراهيم، واليسع، وحزقيل، وعزيز، وغيرهم من أنبياء الله تعالى، من المعجزات الخارقات للعادات.."
يضيء هذا الكتاب على موضوعات هامة وهي: ماذا يعني التشبيه؟ يسوع ودعوته؛ ودعوى موته، وعباداته!، يسوع والعبادة والصلب!؛ المعجزات، وعجز المخلوق عنها، المعجزات من الله، وللمصلحة، العقل يفرق الإيمان برسل الله، الوحدة من رسالات السماء، الإسلام دعوى للسلام لا للحرب، تحريف الإنجيل، ووحدة الرسالات السماوية، بشارات إنجيلية بمحمد صلى الله عليه وسلم، أسباب انتشار الإسلام والمسيحية.
