من الملاحظ أن الدراسات التي اتخذت من الانحراف والجريمة ميداناً لها، لم تحاول فهم موقف الفكر الإسلامي، ولو من خلال إحدى النظريات المفسرة للجريمة في علم الاجتاع، والتي يستعين بها الباحثون في صياغة إطارهم الفكري إلا في القليل النادر. والمؤلف من خلال رسالته هذه لنيل درجة الدكتوراه، يقدم دراسة يحاول من خلالها تقويم نظرية الاختلاط التفاضلي في المنظور الإسلامي، وهذا يعني البحث المعمق في الأصول الإسلامية لبعض قضايا علم اجتماع الجريمة وذلك في محاولة لإبراز التفسير الإسلامي للسلوك الانحرافي عن طريق صياغة إطار تفسيري سوسيولوجي من مدخل إسلامي.
