يجمع هذا الكتاب بين دفتيه مختارات من (قصص الشهيد) السيد عبد الحسين دستغيب كتبها خلال مسيرته الدعوية في خدمة الإسلام والمسلمين. فيها من الحوادث التاريخية، وقصص الملوك، وأخبار العامة والخاصة الكثير. ساقها المؤلف بأسلوب القص الروائي الذي يتحدث عن سالف العهد والزمان فجمعت بين التشويق والحكمة والموعظة.
ولأهمية هذا الكتاب دأب السيد (مظفر زنكنة) الى ترجمته عن نصه الفارسي، والعناية به من الناحية الأدبية واللغوية، وترجمة حياة الشخصيات الموجودة ضمن هذه الروايات، والتعليق على بعض الأحداث والشخصيات الغير معروفة وتوضيح بعض المصطلحات. وكذلك تخريج الآيات والأحاديث الواردة في أمهات كتب الأئمة رضوان الله عليهم أجمعين.
يضم الكتاب (253) قصة قصيرة نذكر من عناوينها "الطالب الذكي"، "الراعي الأمين"، "النشر"، "دعاء التاجر"، "الطفل الضرير" "سارق الإبل"، الملكة الجائعة"... الخ.
