هذا الكتاب يتحدث عن علم من أعلام الجهاد الدكتور عبد الرحمن الشهبندر الذي أخذ على عاتقه مع إخوانه مهمة تحرير الوطن من الغاصب المحتل الذي حتى تأخذ الأمة العربية مكانها الطبيعي بين الأمم. وهذه الرسائل فيها تفصيلات كثيرة ودقيقة لأهم القضايا الوطنية في سوريا والأردن وفلسطين والعراق ومصر خلال فترة تمتد أكثر من خمسة عشر عاماً بين 1925-1940 وهي تعكس طبيعة العمل الوطني في تلك الفترة وتعبر عن تاريخ الوطن بحلوه ومره. و قد تم تنظيم الرسائل بحسب تسلسلها الزمني لمعرفة الحوادث بوضوح.
وشرح الكتاب الغموض الذي في النصوص ويعرف بأهم الأعلام وضيف مجموعة كبيرة من الصور التاريخية النادرة لتساعد على فهم الأحداث وتبين للأجيال الحاضرة صوراً من تاريخها القريب تستفيد منها في حاضرها ومستقبلها. ونشر هذه المذكرات يعد واجباً وطنياً وحقا علينا تجاه من صنع لنا الاستقلال.
