هذا الكتاب ديوان شعر شعبي مميز ولشاعر مميز. هو زيد الأطرش شقيق القائد العام للثورة السورية الكبرى سلطان الأطرش. طالما اشتاق أهل الذوق من رفاق الشاعر لقراءته. وما عرفت محافظة السويداء شاعراً نال من الحب والتقدير والتوقير كصاحب هذا الديوان. فقد عذب شعره, ومازج عواطف الناس حبه. حتى جعلوا من قصلئده أهازيج أفراحهم وأناشيد احتفالاتهم. لأنه يشكل صفحة من تاريخهم وملحمة من ملاحم جهادهم وصورة نابضة من أدبهم الشعبي وتراثهم. كان الشاعر فارساً ومجاهداً وشعره تتمة لشعر الحماسة العربية ولم يترك مناسبة وطنية أو قومية إلا ونظم فيها قصيدة وحمل من أجلها موقفاً. إن العروبة هي المبتدأ والمنتهى في نضال الشاعر وصوته تذكير بالجهاد والحرية. والتي لا تؤخذ إلا ببذل الدم. وفيها لا يسأل الباذل عما بذل وطالما كان الشعر الشعبي صورة للمجتمع الذي حفظه واستمتع بغنائه ومن شاء أن يتعرف على قوم فليقرأ أشعارهم الشعبية.
