في هذا الكتاب يرصد الكاتب وضّاح صائب بأسلوب الفن الروائي بواكير الدعوة المحمدية إلى الإسلام، فتحضر قريش وتحضر مكة، ومعهم المهاجرون والأنصار. والكاتب في رصده محطات السيرة الواقعية / التاريخية – الدينية، للمجتمع الإسلامي الوليد، إنما يقدم لنا ترجمة تاريخية للصراع بين الديني والسياسي، وموقع الفرد منهما المتمثل بين القبول أو الرفض، فمنهم من أسلم، ومنهم من كفر، ومنهم من حارب لأجل الملك، حيث تحضر شخصية أبي سفيان ودوره في مسار الدعوة، ومواقفه من أحداث عصره، ولعل الكاتب بمواكبته التحولات السياسية والإجتماعية في مسار الدعوة، ومراعاته التسلسل التاريخي للأحداث والوقائع، تعامل مع النص كمؤرخ أكثر منه روائي، فقد أفاد من التاريخ وعرف كيف يوظفه توظيفاً فنياً وسردياً في آن كما عرف كيف يحافظ على التوازن الدقيق بين المادة التاريخية بما هي وقائع وإعادة تصنيعها بصيغة الروي فأضاف إلى المكتبة العربية والإسلامية كتاباً جديداً يستحق القراءة.
في كتابه هذا يقول وضاح صائب:" لا تنتمي هذه "الرؤية" إلى عالم الرواية، وإن أرادتها زوجتي وبعض الأصدقاء كذلك، ولا إلى عالم القصة، وأرجو أن لا تقيّم على هذا الأساس. هي ببساطة، شكل أدبي مفتوح لقراءة حادثة تاريخية، دون التقيد بقواعد وأطر وعوائق محددة لدى الكتاب والنقاد، وهي عمل رؤيوي إسترجاعي في جانب منه، رغم تاريخية أشخاصه وأحداثه، يهدف أولاً وأخيراً إلى ايصال الفكرة الأساسية التي سيتلمّسها القارىء على مدار السياق، مما بات تاريخاً حادثاً وفاعلاً أكثر من اي جزء آخر من تاريخنا، بحيث أمسى واقعاً معاشاً دائماً، لا مجرد تاريخ مقروء".
