إن هذا الكتاب يتفرد في شرح الرابط بين الدين والعمارة كما هو في الحقيقة، وليس كما نقل عن الكتب الغربية التي فاضت بها المكتبة العربية. والتي والمدهش في الأمر، أنها متشابعة في معلوماتها الخاطئة، بل وأحياناً أخرى تتكرر نفس الكلمات فيها، وبذلك نكون نعمل عمل النساخ دون أي تحقيق أو تمحيص في موادها العلمية، والحقية، إن من يرفع ويدرس البيوت الدمشقية دراسة جدية سيجد الحقيقة واضحة جداً أمامه، فهي المرجع الرئيسي لكل الدراسات سواء أكانت في ارتباط الفكر الديني بالعمارة والمترجم من خلال النسب والعناصر المعمارية، أو في تطور تلك العناصر ونشوئها.
