الاسلاموية السياسية، الناطقة الجديدة بلسان "المحرومين"، لا تهاجم الملكية والقدرة السياسية التي تنبثق منها، بل تهاجم السيادة والحكم السياسي الذي يمثلها؛ ومتى صارت مسلّحة، فإنها تمارس عنفاً قاتلاً أعمى، هادفة من وراء ذلك إلى تبيان أن الحكم ليس سيداً أينما كان؛ الأصولي الإسلامي لا يطالب بملكية أرض، بل بإعادة توزيع بلا حدود.
من هنا نراه يدخل في نزاع مع أصحاب السيادة الحاكمين في البلدان الإسلامية بالدرجة الأولى، خصوصاً في البلدان النفطية، ثم مع أصحاب السيادة في العالم، وبالتالي في المركز الرئيسي الذي هو الولايات المتحدة.
هذه الدينامية التي تحرك الإسلامويين لا ترجع إلى حنين ألفوي فقط، إلى رغبة في العودة إلى الامبراطورية الاسلامية كما كانت في زمن عظمتها؛ يبيّن المؤلف إنها تندرج محلياً في أداء المجتمعات النفطية الريعي حيث الثروة مرتبطة بمكانة الأفراد، وأنها تندرج تاريخياً في التحول العالمي من الرأسمالية الصناعية إلى الرأسمالية الريعية، خصوصاً المالية، حيث تحل الايديولوجيات التي ترفع قيمة المكانات الجالبة للمداخيل محل الايديولوجيات التي ترفع قيمة العمل الانتاجي.
