يتحدث المؤلف في هذا الكتاب وعلى ضوء آيات القرآن الكريم ولي من أولياء الله هو سيدنا الخضر عليه السلام، حيث يحاول المؤلف وعلى ضوء تفسير الآيات التي جاء فيها ذكر الخضر عليه السلام استعراض حياة الخضر ملقياً الضوء على روائع تلك الكرامات مبيناً بعد ذلك أقوال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن الخضر، مستخرجاً بدائع وروائع شرح الحديث، كما حاول استنباط الأحكام وتبيين روائع الأسئلة والأجوبة، التي جاءت في هذا السياق، متناولاً من زاوية أخرى تفسير لماذا سمي الخضر؟ وكيف كان يصلي على سجاد على أمواج البحر؟ وما هي عين الحياة. ثم ينهي كتابه بمشهد مسرحي دار فيه الحوار المستخلص من الآيات التي جاءت بالخضر في سورة الكهف وغيرها من السور القرآنية.
