اهتم الكتاب بشرح صيغ التمويل الإسلامية وتحليل الآثار المالية والإقتصادية المترتبة على تطبيق تلك الصيغ، وقدم بناء عليه نماذج لتقدير نسب الربح في البيوع المؤجلة بدلاً من الإسترشاد بعوائد الأدوات المالية في الاسواق النقدية والمالية في النظم التقليدية، كما بين الآثار الإقتصادية المتوقعة على إستخدام تلك النماذج.
تضمن الكتاب دراسة إحصائية لإختبار العلاقة بين حجم تمويل رأس المال العامل الممنوح من المصارف الإسلامية وعدد من العوامل أهمها طبيعة العقد المستخدم للتمويل، وطبيعة نشاط المؤسسة المتمولة، وربحية المصرف، وحجم ودائعه، حيث تبين عدم وجود علاقة ذات دلاله إحصائية بين حجم تمويل رأس المال العامل والعوامل المدروسة.
