"الحرب انتهت. هكذا قالوا. هكذا قالت الإذاعات والجرائد. هكذا قال الشارع بناسه وأطفاله وعرباته. كاميليا ستعود إلى إنكلترا بعدما علمت أن في أحشائها جنيناً صغيراً ينمو. سأعود إلى هناك وأتعلم كيفية الاستقرار. بادرتني كاميليا وهي تعانقني. "سيصير طفلي هو المكان، يسكنني واسكنه"، أضافت وهي تمرر يدها على بطنها، كذلك ابتسمت أنا. قالت أنها المرة الأولى التي تراني فيها ابتسم، وأردفت أننا نحتاج لمعجزة إلهية كي نشطى. هززت لها برأسي وتبعتها نحو الباب أراقبها وهي تنزل الدرج وترحل". في "باء مثل بيت ... مثل بيروت" رسمت "إيمان يونس" صوراً في حاضرها وواقعها التي عاشت فيه، صوراً عكست في خلاله الواقع بكل تفاصيله، لترسم الإنسان بكل حالاته في قوته وضعوفه في أنانيته وإنكساراته وانتصاراته، وهي لم تغفل في قصتها تدوين أحاسيسها هي هذه الأحاسيس المشتركة التي أحس بها كل اللبنانيون في أيام الحرب.
أحياناً توقظني الأصوات البعيدة، ويأتيني وقع هطول المطر المتواصل عبر النافذة التي لا تبعد كثيراً عن فراشي. أرفع رأسي قليلاً لأسمع بوضوح أكثر وأقدّر المسافة بيني وبين مكان الانفجارات. الليل يغطي المساحة في الخارج. ليل لا حدود له. وحين تكثر الأصوات يستحيل علي التفريق بين صوت الرعد وصوت الانفجار. وتختلط أصوات الانفجارات بأصوات المطر، أحتمل الأصوات أكثر حين يهطل المطر. وكأن الانفجارات تتبلّل بالمطر هي الأخرى، فترقّ وتصير أقل قسوة على جدران المنازل وأصحابها.
