يتحدث هذا الكتاب عن القدر بعيداً عن صخَب الأهواء, وأغشية الشبهات, وضجيج المجادلات, وصعوبة المصطلحات, ومماحكة الفرق والمذاهب.
اعتمد في طرحه على المعين الصافي القرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية الصحيحة, الذي نهل منه الصحابة والتابعون فكانوا خير أمةٍ أخرجت للناس يأمرون بالمعروف وينهون عن المنكر ويؤمنون بالله.
يهدف الكتاب إلى مخاطبة العقول, وإحياء القلوب, وتحريك الفطرة, وربط الناس بخالقهم العظيم, وبيان ما يجب عليهم معرفته من القضاء والقدر والحكمة والتعليل الذي هو أسمى المقاصد, فبالقدر والحكمة ظهر خلق الله وشرعه المبين.
شرح معاني القضاء والقدر, ووجوب الإيمان بهما, والوصايا النبوية لترويض النفس على الرضا بالقدر, وبيَّن مراتب القدر, كالعلم والكتابة والارادة والمشيئة والخلق, وتحدث عن التقادير الخمس: الأزلي, الميثاقي, العمري, الحولي, اليومي, وكذلك بيَّن نوعي الارادة الإلهية: الكوني والشرعي.
وضَّح معنى الهداية ومراتبها وأسبابها, وكذلك الضلال معناه ومراتبه وأسبابه.
ذكر فيه ثمرات الإيمان بالقدر في عقلية المسلم ونفسيته, ووجدانه وإرادته وعلاقته بنفسه وبربه, وبمن حوله وما حوله.
إنه كتاب جدير بالقراءة لما تضمنه من دقّة في العلم وسلاسة في الأسلوب.
