Book Description
الظرف لغة هو البراعة وذكاء القلب، والظريف بارع في كل فضيلة وجمال ويفوق أصحابه في العلم والسؤدد. والظرف ظاهرة جمالية تعتبر نتاجاً حجازياً إسلامياً خاصاً إذ كان ظهور الإسلام وما عقبه من تطورات اقتصادية واجتماعية وحضارية وظهور تجمعات حضرية خاصة في مكة والمدينة وفي الطائف.
وفي هذا البحث يتتبع المؤلف نشوء تلك الظاهرة انطلاقاً من بدايتها، ومن نواتها الأولى، لفهم الظرف الذي كان الحجاز إطاراً مناسباً لتطوره. غير أن المؤلف يلتمس حضور الظرف في أشكال مختلفة في فترة الجاهلية. وهو يشير إلى أن المجتمع العربي الإسلامي قد عرف شكلاً من الممارسة الجمالية يتعلق بحسن الهيئة والتصرف وهي ممارسات تشي بذوق فني رفيع هو الذي يسمى بالظرف. ويقصد المؤلف بتجربة الظرفاء الجمالية مجموع الممارسات التي تتخذ من أنماط سلوك معينة وآداب صارمة تتعلق بحسن التصرف في المجالس.
والمؤلف يحصر مجال اهتمامه في المشرق العربي وتحديداً الجزيرة العربية والعراق حيث نشأ الظرف وعرف أوجّه قبل انتقاله إلى بقية أرجاء العالم الإسلامي. يتتبع المؤلف نشوء الظاهرة منذ القرن الرابع للهجرة، فيبدأ أولاً بتحديد معنى الظرف ومعانيه المختلفة. كما يتقصّى جذور الظرف في الجاهلية ويخصص جزءين رئيسيين:
الأول عالج فيه موضوع الظرف الحجازي، حيث يحاول المؤلف فهم تلك الظاهرة التي شاعت في الحجاز بعد ظهور الإسلام بعقود قليلة، كما يتتبع المؤلف الآليات التي كانت تحدّد وعي الظريف بالحياة لفهم عملية التكالب على الجمال عنده.
أما الجزء الثاني من الدراسة فيتعلق بالظرف العراقي، ويخصصه لفهم الظرف حيث اكتملت صورته وبلغ أوجّه في بغداد وصار سلوكاً مقنناً بآداب واضحة وقواعد مضبوطة وأخلاق صارمة.
