يسعى هذا البحث إلى تفكيك رواية السيرة لحدث الوحي المحمديّ، وإلى رصد تطوّرها والوقوف على رهاناتها وخلفيّاتها قديماً وحديثاً، وذلك بعرضها على محكّ الممكن من جهة، والواقع التاريخي من جهة ثانية، وقد اقتضى البحث:
-النظر إلى الوحي المحمّدي من جهة الشّكل: كل ما يخفّ بما يبلّغه النبيّ عن الإتصال بالمفارق: كيفيات الإتصال وأطره وسياقاته وأعراضه، وصورة المفارق، وكيفيات التبليغ، وأثر ذلك في نظرة محمّد إلى نفسه، ونظرة الجماعة إليه.
-النظر إلى الوحي المحمّدي من جهة التقبّل: تقبّل محمّد له أوّلاً، وتقبّل الجماعة التي حاورها الوحي سواء كانت من المعارضين أم من الأتباع ثانياً، واستدعى ذلك مقارنة الوحي المحمّدي بأشكال الإتصال بالمفارق الرائجة في بيئته (وقد نهض بذلك الإتصال الكاهن والشاعر والمتنبئ) حتّى نتبيّن الفروق بين النبيّ وبينهم.
يبتغي هذا البحث من وراء ذلك تخليص ظاهرة الوحي من بعدها العلويّ المفارق ومستواها الرأسي: الله - محمّد، والنظر إليها في علاقتها بالبشر، وبذلك تطمح هذه المقاربة إلى الإنفتاح في دراسة الوحي على قضايا التاريخ الإجتماعي والثقافي، وتسعى إلى تبيّن التغييرات التي أحدثها الوحي المحمّدي في بنية الجماعة، وفي بنية الثقافة، وفي بنية الإعتقاد…
