إن الشرائع السماوية والتشريعات الدولية، كرست حقوق الإنسان في نصوصها، وحددتها له، لكي يكون على معرفة تامة بها، ويكون له السلطة الكاملة في ممارستها، دون أن يمس بحقوق وحريات الآخرين. ووضعت بعض القيود التي تنظم ممارسة هذه الحقوق في إطار سليم وصحيح. وهذه الحقوق المشرعة دينياً ودولياً تقوم على أسس أو قواعد أو مبادئ عامة، وهي: الكرامة والحرية والعدل والمساواة والسلام.
ولذلك، فإن الانتقاص من هذه الحقوق أو هدرها أو انتهاكها، يعتبر انتهاكاً لهذه الأسس وتدميراً لها. وهذا يعني، أن احترام حقوق الإنسان، يضمن الحفاظ على السلام والأمان والكرامة والحرية والعدالة بين الناس.
وهذا الكتاب يتضمن دراسة تحليلية لأسس حقوق الإنسان والشعوب، على صعيد الشريعة الإسلامية الكريمة، والمواثيق الدولية لحقوق الإنسان، توصلاً لمعرفة مدى أهمية الحفاظ على هذه الحقوق واحترامها وعدم انتهاكها، لكي تبقى أسسها مصانة، ويبقى، بالتالي، السلام والأمان في العالم، قائماً.
