في هذه القصة " النسر الطماع" قال الأولاد لعمهم الحكيم: "احك لنا حكاية يا عم حكيم عن ساحر عليم وماردٍ عظيم" ردّ العم حكيم: "السحر يا أحبتي والمارد العظيم خرافة قد انتهت في عهدنا القديم، عني لكم يا أحبائي حكاية جميلة وأرق من النسيم، عن نسر طماع أراد أن يشرب من حياة البركة العذبة وحده... ويحرم منها بقية النسور... فهل تدرون ماذا جرى له؟"...
