ويكفي أن يكون الشاعر الخالد شكسبير قد سمى هذه القصة بالمسرحية الخالدة، لنعرف في أي مرتبة هي وما هي قيمتها بين قصص الحب التي جرت في التاريخ القديم والحديث، ومن مطالعة القارىء لهذه المأساة التي وضعها المؤلف "بول ريبو" حيث تناول حياة أسرتهما المتخاصمين، كما صور حبهما على ضوء التاريخ وحقائقه ووثائقه الصحيحة كما شرح بإسهاب ذلك العصر الذي كانا يعيشان فيه بكل دقة ووضوح مما يجعلك تتمثل نفسك أنك تعيش هذه الحقبة من التاريخ ويسيطر عليم جو القصة بما فيه من أحداث وتضحيات وحب جارف فيه الوفاء كل الوفاء والإخلاص حتى الموت.
