إنها مسرحية إنكليزية بأدق معنى هذه الكلمة، بعيدة عن الارستقراطية الفنية كما صورها أرسططاليس. مسرحية فيها ثورة الشباب ومرارة الفيلسوف، وتباعد الأشياء وتقاربها، وحب شبابين على رغم ما بين أسرتيهما من العداء المتأصل، وانتصار هذا الحب وإن كان بالموت.
