الأزمة المالية العالمية التي ضربت الإقتصادات الرئيسية في العالم، وفي مقدمتها الإقتصاد الأمريكي في الخامس عشر من سبتمبر - أيلول 2008، ليست وليدة ذلك اليوم، ولم تتفاعل بين عشية وضحاها، ولكن بوادرها قائمة منذ عام 2005 على الأقل، وعلاماتها المتتالية كانت واضحة للعيان.
وكانت البداية من أكبر إقتصاد منفرد في العالم، الإفتصاد الأمريكي، فيما يسمى بأزمة الرهن العقاري.
سيطرت الشركات (عابرة الجنسيات) على الإنتاج الدولي من خلال الإستثمارات المباشرة، تنقل المصانع إلى خارج (المركز) ومعها التكنولوجيا ورأس المال، وإن تكن التكنولوجيا أقل تطوراً، وأعلى كلفة، وأكثر إضراراً بالبيئة البشرية.
لقد تم إنتقاء جمل وفقرات من سفر آدم سميث العظيم، لتوافق هوى الأفراد (لا الأمم) ولتخدم تراكم الرأسمال (وليس بناء الثروة) وتحديد الأجور (بدلاً من وضع مستوى الأجور وفق تكلفة المعيشة وقيمة العمل).
ما هو مضمون خطة الإنقاذ الأمريكية وتبعاتها؟ إن الثقة غير متوفرة في إمكان التعافي السليم والسريع للنظام المالي الأمريكي، هل أزمة حقيقية وشاملة أيضاً، إنها ليست مجرد سحابة عابرة، كما أنها أقل من "فيضان مصر"، ولكن هل تطال الجميع؟.
