تجتاز لغة سعاد الصباح حدود كونها واسطة لإظهار المعنى، فهي تخطو لتكون المعنى إيّاه، يحل فيها وتحل فيه ضمن متواليات هندسية، غايتها ملء المساحة المدعاة بين الشكل والأصل وبين الشيء وظله، وبين الكلام وما لا يمكن ولادته بغير الكلام، فيبقى من دونه بمثابة عدم.
في هذا الكتاب قراءات لقصائد الشاعرة الكويتية "سعاد الصباح" ويقول المؤلف أنها مطالعات وليست نقداً. قد تكون تجربة استبصار مسرحها النص. وقد تكون تذوقاً للقصيدة، لإيجاد صلة مودة بها للاقتراب منها لاستدراجها بغية الوصول إلى بهجة ما. لجعلها منزلاً يطمئن القلب إليه، كلما لاح سأم أو حل في النفس خواء.
هذا شأن الباحث مع القصيدة وكذا أمره مع الشعر. تعامل "محمود صدر" مع القصيدة بنسبة تعاملها معه. فبهذا المعنى كانت القصيدة حركة داخلية انبعثت أسئلة وإشارات، استفهام، ودهشة، وحرضت على كشف ما يخفي مما يسمونه اللغة النسائية. في هذا الكتاب تجربة في الكلام على الشعر، لا منهج لها، قراءة بلا تقليد، وكتابة كذلك. قراءة وكتابة مفتوحتان على نهاجيات لا حصر لها.
إن هذا الكتاب الذي نضعه بين يدي القارئ الكريم هو حلقة نموذج من تجربتنا الجديدة، يؤسس للتعرف إلى تجربة الشاعرة سعاد الصباح من جوانب جديدة، لا تكرر التجارب النقدية التي حاولت الإحاطة بنصوص الشاعرة، إنما تسعى إلى إضاءة جوانب متميزة من شخصيتها، واضعة إياها في موقعها من التجارب العالمية التي تتوافق ومضمونها الفكري والفلسفي والشعري.
