لم ندوَن ما قرأته في هذا الكتاب بدافع الإطناب والإعتزاز بل من باب الوفاء والإستذكار، الجيل الطالع في الكثير من العائلات اللبنانية سوف يهمه الرجوع خطوات من عصر - (الآي - باد) و(الأندرويد) ويقرأ عن حياة أجداد له نشأوا فوق التراب اللبناني وجالوا دول العالم في عصر كانت مشقة الأسفار فيه كمن يمشي على قدميه اليوم من جنوب لبنان إلى شماله، لينشروا ما وَسِعهم من علم ومعرفة.
الكتّاب الذين يؤرخون حياة أقربائهم يُتهمون عادة بالتغرَض والإنحياز، هذا ما تبادر إلى ذهني يوم رحت أقارب هذا الموضوع، فصمّمت أن أتوخّى الحقيقة ما استطعت، وعليه، فالمحسّنات اللفظية التي استخدمتها لم يكن هدفها مغايرة الحقائق بل إضفاء جو شاعري يتماشى مع السياق الذي أوحت به قصائد داود وأبياته.
ولا شك عندي أن قرائي سيستمتعون بهذه العجالة، وسيضيفون معلومات تاريخية متجددة عن تلك الحقبة، كما سيتعرفون لشخصية هذا الرجل الرائد والإنسان... من لبنان!...
