والهدف من هذه الرسالة التي بين أيدينا والتي هي واحدة من سلسلة "المرشد إلى" هي تعليم الراغبين أسس خط الراقعة وأسراره وخفاياه، والكشف لهم عن المبادئ العامة التي تحكم رسم هذا الخط بدءاً بإعداد القلم المخصص لهذا الخط ومروراً بكيفية رسم الحروف في هذا الخط، وانتهاءً بعرض نماذج منفذة بخط الرقعة وهذه النماذج هي عبارة عن نصوص وأقوال وأحاديث نبوية تم تدوينها ورسم حروفها بهذا الخط الجميل. وبهذا الكتاب أيضاً إطلالة بسيطة على تاريخ هذا الخط وعلى القيم الجمالية التي تختزنها حروفه.
