والمؤلف في هذا الكتاب قد أورد تفاصيل كثيرة لفن الحديد المشغول وآثر أن يكون جامعاً ففيه من عصر النهضة الأوربية الكثير وفيه الرنيسانس، وفن الروكوكو، وقد أورد فيه من الزخارف الإسلامية الكثير الذي أصبح تصنيعه اليوم منتشراً بعد أن كان مقتصراً على الخشب.
