كأن شعر صلاح ستيتية إمتداد بالكلمة لفن الخط الإسلامي، أعني للشعر الأرابيسكي، مع فارق واحد، هو أن الثاني يجيد عن شيئية العالم بحدس ديني، وأن الأول يجيد عنها بوعي التجريد، غير أن الهاجس واحد: أنه هاجس تشكيلي - جمالي.
هكذا نصفه بأنه شعر - هندسة: شكل جميل بذاته ولذاته، وهو، في جماليته هذه، فعال ودال - مع أنه لا يعكس "واقعاً" ولا يحمل "قضية".
والكتابة هنا ليست ترويضاً للغة وحسب، شأن الترويض الذي يُمارَس على الخطوط، وإنما هي أيضاً إرادة تنظيم وتناغم، إرادة تشكيل جمالي، والقصيدة هنا بنية / نسق، إنها العلم بالجمال، إنها علمُ جمَال.
نقرأ له: ..."أتشَكّلُ حول لؤلؤة مَشْغولة البال... تُغْلق عليها بتوحّدٍ... ناووسَ كراهيةٍ وحبّ... يُطوقِّه لَبْلابٌ بِحَرْشفٍ بلا حَدّ... وتحت شجرة البداية، الغابة المُقْفرة... تبحث، تماثلاً، عن التغيّر... حين يعود إليها الألم... ويمَنحُ للجوهر أبا الحِّن"...
