يتضمن هذا الكتاب بيان ما لم يسبق إليه الحافظ ابن الصديق في مختلف العلوم الشرعية والتفصيل في ذلك، فقد تفرد ابن الصديق بمسائل دقيقة في علم التفسير وعلم الحديث والفقه وأصوله، والمنطق وعلم الكلام، وأتى بذلك في كتابه سبيل التوفيق، وفي المخطوط غير التام، ومن ثم جعلتهما الأساس في بيانها، كما رجعت إلى كتبه ورسائله لإستخراج ما تضمنته من ذلك، وللوقوف على ما لم يذكره في الكتابين المذكورين.
اشتمل الكتاب على مقدمة وسبعة فصول، ذكرت في المقدمة أهمية الإجتهاد وضرورته، والأسباب الداعية للتأليف في إجتهادات الحافظ السيد عبد الله بن الصديق الغماري وتفرداته.
وقدمت في الفصل الأول ترجمة مختصرة ووافية لأهم مراحل حياته وسيرته العلمية، مع عرض أغلب الأسماء مؤلفاته وآثاره، وفي الفصل الثاني، قمت بتقسيم تفرداته، نظراً لتعددها وتنوعها، وذلك لإعطاء نظرة شاملة وصورة واضحة عن نوعية تفرداته العلمية، وقد تم ذلك بالتأمل في بيانه لها في سبيل التوفيق، وإستقراء مقدمات ومضامين عدد مهم من كتبه، ثم قدمت لمحة مهمة عن المنهج العلمي الذي سلكه فيها، والأسس التي سار عليها للتوصل إلى تفسير آية، أو إستنباط حكم، أو بيان نكتة علمية، أو غير ذلك.
أما الفصول الباقية فخصصتها لعرض تفرداته العلمية، مع التوسع في بيانها والتفصيل فيها، حيث قمت بتصنيفها بحسب العلوم، ثم بحسب مباحث كل علم، فأتيت في الفصل الثالث بتفرداته في التفسير، وفي الفصل الرابع بتفرداته في علم الحديث، وقدمت في الفصل الخامس تفرداته في علم الأصول، وجعلت الأخرى التي في الفقه في محتويات الفصل السادس، أما الفصل السابع والأخير فكان حول تفرداته في علم الكلام والمنطق.
ولإبراز وجه تفرده في مسألة ما وتوضيحه بشكل جيد، أتيت بأقوال العلماء في المسألة، وبينت وجه تفرده فيها، مع توثيق حججه وأدلته، ثم ألحقت بالكتاب رسالة الحافظ ابن الصديق في ما انفرد به، وقدمت لها بوصف مختصر للنسخة المعتمدة، ثم وضعت لائحة المصادر والمراجع، وفهرساً لمباحث الكتاب.
