هذا الكتاب "دراسة أسانيد الحديث الشريف" نموذج لطريقة الأستاذ البقاعي، يبسط قواعد المحدثين في دراسة الأسانيد، ويعرضها في قالب جديد مفيد جداً، هو قالب التطبيق. ومما تجدر الإشارة إليه هو أن هذا الجزء من الكتاب هو الثاني من سلسلة كتب أصدرها المؤلف في ثلاثة أجزاء حملت العناوين التالية وبالتوالي: "hujH7NvH5Yhref='/abookstore/bookpage.asp?id=91514'>تخريج الحديث الشريف"، "دراسة أسانيد الحديث الشريف" وهو هذا الذي بين يدينا وأخيراً "vGRoUJsdbGhref='/abookstore/bookpage.asp?id=120790'>مناهج المحدثين العامة والخاصة (الصناعة الحديثية)".
ويتكون هذا الجزء الذي بين يدينا من مقدمة وتمهيد وخمسة فصول وخاتمة جاءت موضوعاتها كالآتي: في التمهيد ذكر لتعريف السند والإسناد، وفضله، ونتائج الاهتمام بالسند، وما الذي يحتاجه دارس الأسانيد، وكيف البحث عن أحوال الرجال وصفات الباحث. واشتمل الفصل الأول على الخطوة الأولى من الحكم على الحديث ,هي تميز الراوي من غيره باسمه واسم أبيه ونسبته، ثم تميز الراوي من غيره زمانياً إذ اتفقت الأسماء والنسب.
واشتمل الفصل الثاني على الخطوة الثانية، وهي التحقق من عدالة الراوي وضبطه، أما الفصل الثالث فاشتمل على الخطوة الثالثة، وهي التحقق من اتصال السند، واشتمل الفصل الرابع على الخطوة الرابعة، وهي التحقق من صحة الحديث بخلوه من الشذوذ والعلل القادمة التي تؤثر في صحته، أما الفصل الخامس والأخير فاشتمل على الخطوة الخامسة وهي البحث عن العاضد، إذا لم تتوفر في السند شروط الصحة كلها، إلى جانب هذا يشتمل على فصل على تطبيقات كثيرة محلولة، وتدريبات غير محاولة.
