"قال الطبرسي في الاحتجاج أن أمير المؤمنين عليه السلام كان جالساً قال: سلوني قبل أن تفقدوني، فقام إليه رجل من أقصى المجلس فقال: يا أمير المؤمنين دلني على عمل ينجيني الله به من النار. قال عليه السلام: اسمع ثم أفهم ثم استيقن قامت الدنيا بثلاث بعالم ناطق مستعمل لعلمه وبغني لا يبخل بماله على أهل دين الله وبفقير صابر على فقره فإذا لم يعمل العالم بعمله وبخل الغني بماله ولم يصبر الفقير على فقره فعندها الويل والثبور وكادت الناس أن ترجع إلى الكفر بعد الإيمان أيها السائل لا تغترف بكثرة المساجد وجماعة أقوام أجسادهم مجتمعة وقلوبهم متفرقة فإنما النار ثلاث: زاهد وراغب وصابر، أما الزاهد فلا يفرح بالدنيا إذا أتته ولا يحزن إذا فاتته وأما الصابر فيتمناها بقلبه فإذا أدرك منها شيئاً صرف عنها نفسه لعلمه بسوء العاقبة وأما الراغب فلا يبالي من حل أصابها أم من حرام. قال: يا أمير المؤمنين فما علاقة المؤمن في ذلك الزمان؟ قال عليه السلام: ينظر إلى ولي الله فيتولاه وإلى عدو الله فيتبرأ منه وإن كان حميماً قريباً. قال: صدقت والله يا أمير المؤمنين ثم غاب فلم نره، فقال عليه السلام: هذا أخير الخضر عليه السلام".
هذه قصة من القصص الكثرة التي يرويها هذا الكتاب والذي يشتمل على قصص ذكرت عن الإمام علي بن أبي طالب رضي الله عنه، كما وفيه بحث مجمل وملخص عن إثبات الإمامة وشروطها ودلائلها...
