التربية في مهب التغيير: هل من تطلعات جديدة للبنان؟ "هو عنوان المؤتمر الذي نظمته، يوم الجمعة 8تشرين 2002، جامعة سيدة اللويزة بالتعاون مع مكتب اليونسكو الإقليمي في بيروت، في قاعة محاضرات الجامعة، بحضور لفيف من السياسيين، وحوالي 80 من الاختصاصيين التربويين. هذا وقد يشكل المؤتمر إطاراً عملياً ومبادرة طليعية شدّد عليها أحد المشاركين لنبدأ بمبادرات جرئية بمن حضر"، ملقياً في تحديد إشكالية موضوع المؤتمر مع الأب بطرس طربيه، الذي قال: "كان أسهل علينا الجلوس في مقاعد المتفرجين والسكوت عن هذا الهم بإلقاء المسؤولية على السلطات الرسمية".
وبشكل عام تمحورت جلسات العمل والمناقشات حول ثلاث قضايا هي: نوعية التربية والتعليم في ارتباطها بنوعية الحياة، وكيف تتم التنشئة المتبادلة بين المربين والمتربين، وحماية حقوق الضعفاء في التعليم والارتقاء الإنساني، والاقتراحات العملية.
