هذه دراسة أعدها الدكتور عبد اللطيف صوفي ليتحدث فيها عن تنظيم المكتبات المدرسية ودورها في مستقبل التربية، في الفصل الأول منها تطرق إلى أسس التربية للمستقبل، وأهداف المراحل ما قبل الجامعية في إطار التربية، وبين دور المكتبة المدرسية في تحقيق هذه الأهداف، تم عرض دور الكتاب والمكتبة في عالمنا المعاصر، ولأهمية المكتبات المدرسية على وجه الخصوص، أما الفصل الثاني فخصصه ليتحدث عن تنظيم المكتبات المدرسية من النواحي الفنية كالإدارة، واقتناء الكتب، والتصنيف، والفهرسة، والإعارة والجرد، وغيرها من الموضوعات التي تساعد المكتبي، والمعلمين، والتلاميذ في تنظيم المكتبة العربية من الأدب واللغة والثقافة العامة، وبين سبل الإفادة منها، والرجوع إليها، حتى يتعرض المكتبي عليها، ويتمكن من استخدامها في مصلحة التلاميذ. ويرشدهم إليها، ويتمكن من استخدام في مصلحة التلاميذ ويرشدهم إليها، كما نعرض في هذا الفصل للحديث الببليوجرافيا، ومن أهم المؤلفات الببليوجرافية العربية، متى يطلع المكتبي على بعض أهم كتب التراث العربي من جهة، ومتى يفيد من هذه القوائم وغيرها في تزويد مكتبته بما يناسبها من كتب من جهة أخرى. وفي ختام الكتاب أورد جدولاً مختصراً خاصاً بتصنيف ديوان العشري المعدل للمكتبة العربية، عرض فيه الأقسام العشرة الأولى وفروعها الرئيسية التي تفي بحاجة المكتبات المدرسية، كما أرفق الكتاب بجدول يحتوي لعض المصطلحات الفنية الهامة في علم المكتبات لمساعدة المكتبي على استخدمها ضمن حدود مكتبته عند الحاجة، أو لمعرفة مدلولاتها واستخدامها في إطار التخصص بشكل عام، هذا فضلاً عن جداول أخرى تحوي مختصرات تستخدم في الفهرسة والتوثيق، وعلامات الترقيم.
