د محمدالتونجي دكتور في اللغة العربية وكاتب ولد في مدينة حلب عام 1933 وتلقى تعليمه فيها وتخرج من جامعة دمشق حاملا الإجازة في اللغة العربية ودبلوم التربية ونال الدكتوراه في الادب الفارسي من طهران وأخرى من الجامعة اليسوعية وعمل مدرسا ووكيلا لكلية الاداب ونال العديد من الجوائز من مختلف الدول وله مؤلفات كثيرة.وهو يدرس اليوم بجامعة الشهباء الخاصة بحلب مادة أخلاقيات المهنة .

تتضح، مع الأيام، ضرورة العناية بالتطبيقات النحوية والإملائية والعروضية، ويبحث الطالب في المكتبات علَّه يجد ما يرضي غُلَّه، غير أنه نادراً ما يتيسّر له ذلك، ليسعف رغبته في الإطلاع، وحبه في الإستغناء، ذلك أنه يبحث عن كتاب تكثر فيه التطبيقات العملية التي تمهد له الدراسة، وتوضح له القاعدات التي يحفظها؛ وهذا ما سعى إليه الكاتب في كتابه هذا.
ولقد قسم الكتاب إلى ثلاثة فصول جامعة، فوضع في الفصل الأول إعراب تسعين بيتاً من الشعر إعراباً مفصلاً (مفردات وجملاً)، ضاماً في ثناياه كل دروس النحو تقريباً، وحرص على أن يكون الأبيات مختارة معنىً وفكرة، ليستفيد منها الطالب في تعبيره المدرسي أو الجامعي، وذكر الأبيات المعربة في ختام الكتاب ليستطيع المراجع العودة إلى ما يناسبه من دراسة وتدرّب؛ وجاء الفصل الثاني جامعاً لأهم ما يلزم الطالب من النواحي العروضية والتقطيع الشعري، ذاكراً أهم ما يعترضه من زحافات أو علل، مع كثير من التطبيق العملي لكل بحر.
ولما لمس كذلك إلحاح الطلاب والمعلمين على ضرورة إيجاد كتاب في الإملاء، كتب الفصل الثالث، وضم فيه القاعدات الإملائية التي يحسُن بالطلاب والمثقفين الإلمامُ بها، لتقوَّم كتاباتُهم، ويعودوا إليها كلما شكُّوا بطريقة رسم كلمة، وقد وضع في هذا الفصل خمسة وعشرون نصاً، بعضها من صنعه، وبعضها من أمهات الكتب؛ وختم الكتاب بفصل رابع ضم نماذج من أبرز ما يعثر به اللسان.
